The BASF SPF Roof System

The BASF SPF Roof System provides a triple layer of protection for your building. It consists of two layers of tough, spray-applied silicone coating on top of a layer of rigid polyurethane insulation. The BASF system resists weathering, oxidation, wind-driven rain and snow, and the effects of ultraviolet radiation and temperature extremes for years of building protection.

BASF Protective Roof Coating is the key to the system's durability and performance. Produced in a facility registered to ISO 9001/9002 standards, this silicone rubber coating is dry in less than 3-4 hours to form a weather tight membrane that provides long-term protection of the polyurethane insulation. It remains flexible with temperature changes and is impervious to water, yet vapor permeable. BASF Protective Roof Coating is Energy Star Rated and exceeds California Title 24 reflectivity and emissivity requirements.

Seamless, Lightweight, Yet Strong
The BASF SPF Roof System offers significant advantages over built-up and single-ply roofing systems. Because it is spray-applied, it is seamless, self-flashing and can be easily sloped for drainage, minimizing ponding. There are no mechanical fasteners to fail, no seams to come apart, and no flashing joints where leaks can form.

The BASF system weighs less than one pound per square foot, so it is ideal for roofs with weight restrictions. In fact, it is so lightweight - about one-sixth the weight of a gravel-surfaced built-up roof - it can often be applied over existing roofs, eliminating the need for costly tear-offs and disposal problems.

Yet, it's strong. The insulation has a compressive strength of at least 50 pounds per square inch, making it more rigid than conventional board stock and able to withstand normal foot traffic.
